ERICK NOLASCO
Erick Nolasco, product and UX/UI designer

About

Hello, I’m Erick.

Hampton Roads, VA · Open to remote

I came to UX from graphic design. I’d been designing for print and marketing for a few years when I landed at a small startup in New York building iOS apps for the US state parks and wildlife areas. That’s where I started shaping app interfaces instead of just static layouts, and it stuck. I turned that experience into a full-time UX/UI role at CBS, and I’ve been in the field since 2010.

That graphic design background still shows up in how I work. I have a strong eye for what looks right and what feels right to use, and I pair those instincts with the structure and research that good UX needs.

These days I design and build. With AI in my workflow I can take a project from a Figma file to a live site myself, which is how this portfolio came together. Claude is my main tool for it, for everything from shipping sites and apps to automating the repetitive parts of my own work. I once used it to hunt down a WordPress bug that had a client stuck for weeks.

Right now I’m open to a full-time design role. I’m especially drawn to startups building something worth caring about, the kind of place where a design team is just getting started and I can help shape it. Good freelance projects are always welcome too.
